Hello ALL
I m new to this forum. Just got my ride (CorollaS2004 Canada's engine model)
SOME BOZZO decided to key my car for no reason. I wasn't even parked close to other car. Anyone know how to deal with this? it's a nice 15cm scratch, at times deep to the metal.
i would kill whoever did it....BUT before they die...i would jab my car key i their EYE....LOL that was quiet rude on my part...i could never do something like that..
finish it off...... seriously... key the whole car, then tell insurance (or tell insurance the whole car got keyed first, then finish it off before they send out an adjuster)

no... most people don't even carry full insurance..... most just have the state minimums liability.... it's high because of drunk drivers and drivers who cause accidents......
it's only an extra $60 for 6 months for my vandalism and theft on insurance.... but the liability is like $1200 for 6 months.... it's ridiculous

actually its becaus of BULL SHIT vandalism claims that cost insurance companys billions a year, why premiums are so high... more BS claims daily than drunk driver accidents
anywyas where on the car is it keyed?? what colour is the car?? where are U located??more info or better yet some pics would be nice then i can tell U how to deal with it

here's my point.... if the car is already keyed... there's already damage..... a shop will charge a premium for just a section.... they have to take the time to prep the area and then make sure they don't get overspray on the rest of the car, and then worry about blending..... which means, if you think about it... they need to lay the paint down first, let it dry.... wetsand it, clean it off, then apply the clear.... again, letting it dry and wetsanding (if they care about causing orange peel or not).... which takes more booth time than just spraying the car, then spraying the clear at the same time....
if you didn't do that, then it wouldn't blend right.... there would be lines of where they painted and it couldn't be fixed..... and booth time is not cheap since most shops only have 1 booth....

Regardless... A dealership or paintshop will rather paint the whole car rather than half.. specially a new car, cause the paint might not match properly.

I've been a lurker for quite sometime, time to contribute a little.
Here's my suggestion:
you use touch up paint then try using a product from www.langka.com to smooth out the blob. I never try it, but a friend did and the result is great.
OR
There are companies that specializes on repairing small scratches and dents. I've used this service to repair a hole on my door panel due to carrying a wood panel. The result is stunning. Pricey, though.
