how to refill tranny oil for a 2004 corolla?

i just tried to change my tranny oil on my 2004 corolla, i drained it, but then i realized that i am not sure where i should pure the new oil into. i did notice there is a place where there is a metal ring on the top and i think i have to move the metal ring in order to gain access into the oil entrance - can someone confirm this for me please?

another thought - do i just take the dip stick out and refill the oil from the dip stick tube?

yea, usually you can refill it from the dip stick hole. but thats if you know the exact amount that goes in.....or keep checking the fluid level.....

you can also refill from the bottom, theres another plug on the side f the tranny....

i would recommand ATF from Redline....

another question, do u guys have a quick and easy way of removing the stupid oil filter? i am trying to change it for the first time and its on there TIED.

Get a filter wrench. They're not expensive. Did mine last weekend. I bought the filter wrench (a nylon loop strap attached to a fitting for a 1/2" rachet) when I bought the new filter, < $10.

if you're planning on doing oil change on the car by yourself from now on, very good investment is getting oil filter cup from the dealer...around $12....

heres a hint, when you loosen the oilfilter (its located at the bottom) loosen it till the oil leaks out for a while (around 15 sec) than take the filter off, or you're gonna make lotta mess.. oile well still come out of the area, so make sure you have a large bin to retreive that.
