Gas sediment inside the tank

I have a question,

I read somewhere that it did not matter much if you ran your 98-02 corolla low on fuel (except from the obvious fact of running out of gas). According to the post, the pump always sucks (for lack of a better word) gas from the bottom of the tank where sediment usually deposits. So it would not make a difference if the tank is full or low on gas. The premise of the post was that driving with low fuel in the tank would not harm the engine injectors since deposits would never accumulate.

Is this true?

I wouldn't worry about sediment in the tank on such a new car. And yes of course all tanks pump from the bottom or else you couldn't use all your gas.
In fact it's reccomended to use up all of your tank then fill it up becuase you get better gas mileage than you would if you just ran with a few dollars of gas here and there.

The reason I asked is that I was running very low on fuel the other day and had to make an "emergency stop" at a no name gas station . After I pumped around 3 gallons of gas, I began to notice some sluggishness and hesitation when accelerating.

Later on I refuelled at a Shell station and poured some injector cleaner. That was almost a week ago and I still feel some hesitations at times, although it has been running better since.

I only use Texaco or Shell fuels. I live in Honduras and I dont like to use local gas stations. As I said i had to pump a few gallons of the "cheap" stuff but I was not sure if it was the gas or the fact that I ran the car with so little fuel that cause the hesitations.

Hey man... do you know that cheap gasoline have some other composite liquid('Kerosne') in it? I heard that before my fren. One of my friend also face this kind of problem before. When you go into a NO NAME gas station, please don't really pump a lot into you car. just make is safe to reach another station. I use SHELL also. VERY VERY SELDOM i change. you can feel the differences of ESSO, MOBIL.... they see make your engine a bit louder than usual... Shell seems a bit softer...

Shell is ok...
