mods legality

as u may know, i'm new to the mods scene. i'm wondering if there's a way to find out what mods are legal and what mods are illegal. i 'm assuming that they differ in different part of the region you're from.
i also heard that clear corners are illegal?

Check with your insurance company, motor vehicles branch and local police. in toronto (i don't live there myself) I hear there is a whole unit set up to deal with that type of stuff. In fact there's a tv show, sports compact tv, (airs 1130pst sundays on channel 6 in vancouver) that's filmed in toronto, that has a segment where the cops teach you how to mod.

Well i think sift the WHOLE head unit to your's is the best Original MOD... Only change the engine...
go for Japanese Spec... Seems ok wif me...
I just have my engine change, coz my 1.3 (Stone Age Engine) died... My mum decide to put a Auto in which i opposed...
but after i drive it it feel like 1.6 Auto that my fren owned...
Quite ok... but still not happy coz have to drive AUTO

assume that if you're changing the colour of any exterior light on the car, it's illegal (because it probably is).

Check and read Highway Traffic Act in your State/Province. Its a long read but worth it. How many people know more then 6 light vissible in front is illegal in Ontario?

All i know is if your headlight is brighter than some reading is illegal... don't change too much exterior if you want it on the street

Clear corners should be legal as long as ur bulb is amber.
Also, if your clearcorner says DOT approved, You should be ok.

Edit: You also need to have an amberbulb.

In ontario, do you need to report to your insurance company about your mods??

I remember reading about some insurance companies in ontario not insuring modified cars. can any confirm this.

Most won't anymore. General rule of thumb: Legal or not, any mod past your stereo will get you shitcanned from your insurance company.
