Changing wires

I just finished changing my ignition wires and when I started my car after it sounded like it was backfireing a bit. The wires are all in the right spots as I only replaced one wire at a time after removing the old ones.

Is this happening because I did not lube the new ignition wires? Do Ignition wires even need to be lubed?

Resistorized or non resistorized wires? No they dont need to be lubed. Do they fit the plugs correctly, do they fit the distributor tightly. Is the distributor cap ok? plugs ok?

I got the wires from the Toyota dealership. Everything was working fine until I replaced the wires. My old ones were crapy aftermarket one and they kept poping out. I guess I'll have to take off the center plate to see if the spark plugs are ok. Mabey one is damaged? Cuz when I pulled out one of the wires the connecer inside of it got pulled out.

The connector where? on the wire or the plug? Take a look inside the distributor cap and rotor while you're at it.

On the wire. It should have been inside it but it has come out.

if that wire is on it might be dead, check if its giving a proper spark.

^^ it's electricity contact lube.... to make sure you have a good connection

those little packets of electrical lube come with most good auto wireing kits

After looking at my car yeaterday it turns out that there was nothing wrong with the eletrical. The backfireing I was hearing was an exhaust leak from where the headders connect to 2 pipes that merge into the exhaust pipe. :/
