I was thinking today. If my second AE86 has a good engine and tranny then I will have an extra engine and tranny. If this happens I want a new project Corolla even older than my AE86 next summer. Mind you this can only really happen if I get accepted to College next year, so I can quit my job for the summer and not get kicked out of the house.
The four cars that I was thinking of were TE27, KE20, KE30 or mabey a TE37 (I haven't seen enough pics of TE37 yet). They look like they would be fun to drive.
I was wondering if a 4AGE would fit in any or all of these cars.
LOL! I just realized if I do this it would be my 4th Corolla. I had a 1997 Corolla SD then my parents sold it. Then I got my 1986 Corolla GT-S but the body is shot so I am probably gong to buy another one from Alberta if the guy I know pulls through. Then I'll buy my 4th Corolla next summer if all goes well.
Mabey I should change my nick to the Corolla Kid. Naw I've been using Voodoo.Priest since 1997 so I'll stick with it.
I don't know. Probably Alberta. No road salt there. If not there then the U.S.A.. I know a couple guys who restore cars so if I ask they can keep an eye out.
I'm also not looking for one that has an engine or tranny. Not sure if this would help any thoe.

the 4age doesn't bolt right into them. mind you, you'll probably have enough room to fit it, but you'll definitely have to re-manufacture mounts for both the engine and transmission. along with that, you'll have to modify the diff and the driveshaft and the necessary fuel pumps/lines as all those cars you mentioned are carbeurated.
I think the biggest task, for a shadetree mechanic, would be to properly align and mount the engine to have proper ground clearance and prevent oil starvation at the crank. With all the problems you've mentioned regarding your ae86, this would be an enourmous project.
IMO, the 3tc is good enough. That engine is absoutely bullet proof and is tried and true by racers alike.
So I should go for a 3T instead. Ok.
But like I said this will not be this year because this year I'm working on my AE86. This would be next years project.
Some guy in Dori Kaze said the same thing. To go with a 3T that is. So it look like that is the way to go.
the 3tc is a pushrod 1.8 inline 4!!!!!
hehe
well considering those peuto rican guys get those 3tcs into low 1/4mile times
i think it ain't bad for power and durability.
If it does still have a working 2T in it I will keep it but with a car this old I don't expect to find a working engine so I expect to have to swap. But Like I said this is next years project pending on certian conditions. So it may not happen. Thoe I do want it to happen. I think those older Corolla's looks really good.
