Arrow few questions about XRS....

2 questions...

XRS are made only in canada...is that good or bad? where are the reg. corollas made then? USA? I thought toyota was a Japanese brand...

=PREMIUM GAS ONLY??
so what if you used reg. unleaded on the XRS or any other vehicle that saids 'premium gas only' (ex.lexus, mercedes, acura type-s, turbo cars)? will it damage the engine???

XRS isn't only made in canada, other countries have been offering the car, under a different name...Corolla T sport in Europe....Hatch version......

GAS:
Premium = Highest performance and recommended for vehicles with High compression or turbos to prevent knock.

If you use lower octane gas, performance is less.
In some cases knock sensors cannot handle the difference between Premium vs Reg gas. So if reg was used often enough, it could damage the engine in the long run.

Manufactures recommend certain gas for good reasons.

05 Corolla XRS is built only in Canada. It is supposed to be very good. The reason being, Toyota compiled study results that showed that Cambridge built Corollas are actually better than the Japanese built Corollas in terms of quality control, problems per 100 vehicles. This study led to Toyota's decision to pick Cambridge plant to invest 8 billion into building the only home for Lexus models built outside Japan.

does the xrs really require premium fuel? I thought I read somewhere else that it only used regular fuel.

The 2ZZ-GE's high compression NEEDS at least 91octane. Premium only!

Matrix XRS and Celica GTS owners (where this engine is also used) will tell you the same thing.

You bet you're bottom dollar Premium!

To anyone that buys a High compression vehicle out there, sometimes the dealer doesn't fuel the car up with premium on the first fill up.
So when you pick up you car, make sure to take it easy. Even tho u should be breaking it in.
