on the last (on the right side) cylinder is "4", but there are no other numbers. I suppose that the last is four, like ?-?-?-4.
but what is the correct order?

This is NOT for your car, but I know Toyota uses 1-3-4-2 on some of the newer cars.

I am sure someone here has a manual and can look it up.

What is Latvia like

The firing order on all 4A-FE's is 1-3-4-2, and the cylynders are labeled from the altenator side towards the distributor... It is also labeled on the dizzy cap (if Genuine) which cylynder each goes to...

Cylinder designation starts with the front cylinder on inline engines; the front of the engine has a timing belt on it, and the rear will have a transmission on it.

The firing order for the 85' Corolla GT-S 4A-GE is 1-3-4-2. Most inline 4 cylinder engines uses 1-3-4-2.

counting your cylinders from the timingbelt side 1234

cylinders 1 and 4

2 and 3 work together

on your cap

12 o clock = 3
3 o clock = 4
6 o clock = 2
9 o clock = 1

we count from 1

9 o clock

so its 1342
