Eibach Lowering Springs and '05 Rolla XRS

Anyone know what the impact would be if I installed a set of Eibach Pro-Kit (1.0-1.5") or Sportline (1.7-2.3") springs?

The stock '05 Corolla XRS springs have already lowered the car by 0.5". Does this mean that I need to take that 0.5" loss into consideration with the Eibach springs? (ie: the Pro-kit would really only lower another 0.5-1.0" instead)

FYI I don't want to drop her more than 1.5" drop.

TIA.

the drop is from stock height...not the modified height of the XRS.

i believe they used different springs. they wouldn't be stupid enough to cut the springs.

So if that's the case then I'm better off getting the Eibach Sportline series (1.7"-2.3") since that would mean that the XRS will drop from 1.2"-1.8"

rolla - do you normally order your parts online or from a local parts shop?

How much are you paying for those springs?

It was there but apparantly I parked it too far away (south-west corner of the lot) from the action and had my "XRS tail" facing out. Most probably thought it was just an "S" and dismissed it.

I can get good pricing on Eibach's (ie: if it's available thru Canadian Tire I can get them at well below dealer cost). I'm not sure what cost is yet..but I'm running out of time to get this done for DKN6.

So maybe everyone here can help me decide on a set of lowering springs. What's best? I know that TRD's are Eibach's, but there's also Tein's. There's other too so your input is appreciated.

I'm looking to drop the XRS an additional 1.0 and 1.5" max (considering the stock 0.5" drop that means I need springs that are 1.5-2.0"). Any lower and I'll spend more time looking for ways around speed bumps than driving (I have to pass 2 speed bumps a day). Oh yeah and like the 3 Bears...not to soft...not too hard...just right.

Rolla, you're thinking too much about this.

1)Eibach - Pro Kit = 1 - 1.5" drop ( which is approx. .5 - 1")
2)Eibach - Sptline= 1.7 - 2" drop ( which is approx. 1.2 - 1.5")
3)TRD = Eibach Prokit
4)Tien - 2- 2.3" drop ( approx. 1.5 - 1.8")
5)Progress group - 1.8" drop ( approx. 1.3") - This is what I have installed.
6)Suspension Technique also has some options....

To be 100% sure, u have 2 get them.

One last thing to throw in the pot.....Matrix springs fit too, but if I know you, you want what's spec'd for the XRS as close as possible, just like me.

It's a tough choice, good luck!

Which ones? The ProKit or SportLine?

To be honest I'm leaning towards the TRD's (Eibach ProKit) simply because it won't void my warranty on suspension components.

The TRD's are about $400

Most of the 03+ Rolla guys I know have progress and they seem to like them.
If you are leaning towards TRD then get the Eibach Prokit for ~$200. There is no way you are going to need any warranty repairs on your suspension before the warranty expires anyways...

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna head over to Performance Improvements in Scarborough tomorrow and see if they got any Progress springs in stock. If they have them then I can get this done over the weekend - in time for DKN6.

Now...to get rid of the stock radio.

Well I should have the Progress springs installed by Tuesday night. I also bought the Progress rear stabilizer but it's a special order so will take 2-4 weeks before I get that part.

I'll take some "before" and "after" pics so everyone can see the differences vs stock XRS.

I am sorry and not to be rude but what is it with this forum and the warentee mis information...

why is everyone so mis informed when it comes to the warrenty,

sure the manufacture may dis-honestly try to screw you on a warenty saying a mod or after market part did the damage etc, but the dealer acually likes to do warrenty work, it suplements their walk in work...

Federal Law states you can do just about anything street leagal and not void warrenty

Federal Law says you can use aftermarket parts...

you can not go out of normal bounds, put 21 inch rims on a Corolla and ask the dealer to fix the fender wells...

you can add a TRD superchager and do it your self and not void the warrenty , you do not have to have the dealer do it,

Headers can over heat, headers can be blamed for heat damage and can be used to violate engine damage due to heat warrentys, but the Tranny is still covered...

so think in reason and you will be fine,

TRD CAI is fine on the warrenty, installed by me, my local mechanic or Toyots, no matter

cat back exahust fine on the warrenty, in front of the CAT well this could be debated by the warrenty,
