that's a corolla for sure. just look at the front end. exact same front end of the hatch corolla that was entered in WRCs in the late 90s

that guy, i believe imported the front clip from the uk and fit it on his regular US model corolla..

i am not sure how hard it was to fit.

the 2000 year corollas have both the vvti engines AND the 7a-fe engines, depending on what month the car was made.

the vvti engine is the 1zz-fe and identical to the one they are using the Celica GT and the Matrix.

the 7a-fe engine was toyotas answer to a larger displacment economy hauler..

both displace 1.8 liters however the 1zz-fe has slightly better torque and horsepower numbers.

the 1zz-fe probably will have a larger potential for aftermarket as toyota has used this engine in a number of different vehicles.

What do you mean by "depending on what month the car was made."

That Corolla is DA BOMB! You no wonder why everyone says that Toyota doesn't make cars with personality...the ones that do, never make it over here!

There are actually 3 models of Corolla...NORTH AMERICA, JAPAN/ASIA, EUROPE. Not to sure...but we, of course, get the most bland of them all. Built right in our own backyard.

there was an engine change even tho the model of the car appeared to be the same.

i thought it was based on the model, where the higher class (obviously) would get the vvt-i technology....

These are the Corolla's they had in the Middle East when I went down there.. It's the same car from the Rally's but a hatchback.

I don't know! I like the American version of the Corolla better, it's more aggressive!
