Question about adding a TRD sports exhaust and cold air intake

Im thinking about adding exhaust and cold air intake to the car. I wanna get the parts from TRD so I dont void the car warranty. The parts prices are pretty pricey direct from trdusa.com/ www. toyotaparts4u.com seems to have better prices for parts, but are they genuine TRD parts? Are they a reliable website.

2nd, on the TRD exhaust, is it a huge noise maker, or not too loud?

even if u do end up with a TRD system... if you install it yourself, you may end up voiding the warranty... best to talk to your dealer about the specifics of your warranty to make sure first..

First the TRD exhaust makes a nice low sound so its pretty quiet.

Second just because you get TRD parts it doesn't meen that you wont void the warranty. You will only keep the warranty if the dealership installs the parts on the car for you. Thats the only way.

why is everyone so mis informed when it comes to the warrenty,


sure the manufacture may dis-honestly try to screw you on a warenty saying a mod or after market part did the damage etc, but the dealer acually likes to do warrenty work, it suplements their walk in work...

Federal Law states you can do just about anything street leagal and not void warrenty

Federal Law says you can use aftermarket parts...

you can not go out of normal bounds, put 21 inch rims on a Corolla and ask the dealer to fix the fender wells...

you can add a exhaust and do it your self and not void the warrenty , you do not have to have the dealer do it,

Headers can over heat, headers can be blamed for heat damage and can be used to violate engine damage due to heat warrentys, but the Tranny is still covered...

so think in reason and you will be fine,

TRD CAI is fine on the warrenty, installed by me, my local mechanic or Toyots, no matter

cat back exahust fine on the warrenty, in front of the CAT well this could be debated by the warrenty,

If you install the part, they'll not warranty the part. They still warranty the car, unless they can can proof that your install cause the damage.

..I see posts that say "you have to have the dealer install it or you void the warrenty" and "you have to buy OEM, even TRD can violate the warrenty"

TRD exhaust or Borla or another brand is not going to change anything on the warrenty, except the stock exhaust you cut off, will loose its warrenty as a part, as a part it has to be attached to the car with the warrenty....

moneymetal, That website is reliable as far as I know, they seem to do a lot of business. I have heard of people getting parts from them.
I think The TRD muffler is probably the best sounding I have heard on an 03+ Corolla, which I assume you have. It is very mellow and doesn't sound off untill you are deep into the throttle at like 4000+ RPMs, of course that is where you get what very little gain you may see from it, so it has to be a bit louder.
