On a 1989 Corolla with a 4AF engine, where would an engine oil leak be that manifests itself by coming off the right hand driveshaft, down onto the crossmember. It's engine oil, not transmission fluid, i can be sure of that, but otherwise I'm at a loss, as there is seemingly fresh oil everywhere, the only real gusher is coming off the crossmember. Any input would be appreciated.

Probably the distributor cap seal is gone. its an o-ring, easy to replace.

I looked at the base of the distributor, no such luck, it seems to be coming from around where the fuel pump (mechanical) goes into the camshaft. Could it be that the seal went there, or is there somthing more sinister around in that area (drivers side of the upper block).

well.. then it might be the fuelpumpseal like you said.
