1990 Corolla spare tire help!

Hi, i have a 1990 Corolla SR5. My front right tire has gone flat and I tried to put the spare in. I got all the lug nuts off and I raised my car, but I can't seem to get it off. I see that in the middle of the wheel seems to be some sort of lock(?) that the other wheels don't have. I remember in my old car the front right wheel was different from the others and required another piece of equipment. What can I do to get this wheel off? Thanks.

Get a rubber hammer and hit around the tire a few time. The rim got rusted on to the hub. Do yourself a favour and put some anti-sieze grease on the hub center ring and on the lug bolts and nuts.

it was rusted to the hub... that "lock" was jut the cotter pin for the end of the axle

funny, best way to get them off if you don't have a rubber hammer, is to loosen the bolts, set the car back down... and then drive it like 10 feet forward/backwards.... always works for me
