ae86 preventative maintenance???

hi all
im brand new here, i just bought a 85 corolla gts at auction. it already has 230k miles on it so i was wondering what i should do for regular maintenance. it hesitates a little so i was thinking maybe plugs, wires, cap? oh, and i was going to do a oil change, do you guys like synthetic?

sorry if these are noooobie Q's. in the past i've generaly been a 4g63 and mitsu DSM kinda guy

also, are there any good links that i can read up on ae86's and alike?

thanks
ted

As far as I know synthetic is the enemy of high mileage engines...The reason being is cuz it's a little thinner I believe...so stick to conventional oil if possible..Plugs and ignition parts sound like they could use a change...air filter wouldn't hurt either check your timing and run some fuel injector cleaner in it too...That should bring ya some power back...
