AE-82's back!

hey after the long vacation im back.
heres the sitch on the corolla.....upon taking off the head i discovered that i had a blown head gasket....in two places XD.... after a fully cleaning and filing i installed a new head gasket and the head from my old engine.....got it all done....did a comp. check
1. 30
2. 115
3. 115
4. 120

grrr.....so i continued to drive it....after about a week i replaced all the ignition parts...rotor, plugs, wires, cap...and then did anouther comp check.....

1. 120
2. 115
3. 115
4. 120

the only thing i could think of was that the rings reseated....but it makes no sense....that was, in essance...a dead hole...but it fixed itself....and it now runs stronger than ever......and its fun to drive!

i can squeel the tires nicely

glad you got your car back on the road! ae82's are getting few and far between down here in s.c. i had the same thing happen when i put rings in my FX, only on the #3 cylinder. i guess it took a little longer for that ring to seat in the cylinder.
