Mass Flow Sensor

Hi,

My knowledge is kind of limited in Automobiles. I have Corolla 2001 CE. 2 days back engine light came on. Dealer is saying the Mass flow sensor needs to be replaced. Any one know how much this sensor costs?

Thanks

Those buggers can go for $80 all the way up to $300+. I wouldnt trust the dealer unless you are sure they are honest. See what they are willing to charge for it. First find someone that you trust or borrow a scan tool and check to see if its really the problem. Look around online or at local auto parts stores to see how much one for your model should cost. I think it would be around $140. If the dealer wants more than that, do it yourself. Buy the thing and put it in.

Its $230 Canadian. They tend to brake quit easy. They sell about 60 to 100 per year. It is a problematic sensor. I might have to replace mine as well.

Engine Light

Thanks fof the Info guys. I have my dealer replace the sensor. Final amount 325$ including 65$ for the diagonistic test. The sensor was not covered under ECP program(Damn).

I can certainly see het difference in pick up and overall performance of the car.
