NO Headlights/DRL Lights/Hi-Beams !?

I'm having a major problem with the headlights for my '98 Corolla LE. Neither my hi, low, or drl are working! My parking lights and tail lights work fine. I've checked the fuses and relays. It's not the bulbs because they would work once I released the parking brake, which activated the daytime lights, but once the automatic lights turned on or I use the headlight switch itself, the DRLs would shut off and only my parking and tail lights would come on. Just recently did THAT stop working; meaning even when I release the parking brake the DRLs don't come on.
I took the car to the dealership and they found a relay I believe behind the glove box called a RUNNING LAMP relay ($250!!) They changed it and then the DRLs started to work again but still no hi/low beam headlights. The dealership said it may cost me $900 more to find out why those weren't coming on still, so I decided to pull the car out of their shop. Anyone have any ideas? Again, the relays under the hood are fine, the bulbs are fine, the fuses are fine.... does that only leave wiring problem? Now that the $250 running lamp relay burned out again does that mean it could be drawing too much power somewhere? Thanks for the help!

I had a problem on my kia with the headlights burning out and it was the spring that retained them so might want to check that out but if the relay was replaced and blew again sounds like a short somewhere between the light lever/switch and lights themselves im not sure where the wires are exactly, im not familiar with 98 but 900 dollars sounds ridicuolus

check your fuses, they are probably blown because of a short circuit........a fuse will cost you like $1.00 dollar canadian.

Same problem here but in a 2002 Corolla and in 2006. A mechanic said it was the switch and it would cost 350 total to replace. Not to bad considering what biff was looking at but i'm hoping it is something else. Anyone know of fix besides headlight switch?

thanks
