rolla 04 fog lamp problem

My corolla 2004s just had one of the fog lamp die on me(driver side). i'm wondering if anyone knows how to take it out to see if the lamp burnt out or not....so that i don't need to bring it to the dealership. i checked the fuse, and it doesn't seem to be the fuse(since one of them light is stil functionaL)

There could be a separate fuse or relay for each side. Check the names of the fuses in the owner manual. If there are not 2 screws in the front to take the whole light out, you will have to go in from under the car and remove the light bulb from the back. That means the splash guard under the bumper may have to come off (6 clips I think). Once you see the back of the light assembly, I'm pretty sure you either twist the bulb out or un-clip it. If it is a halogen globe, be careful not to touch the globe itself otherwise the acidity form your hand will cause the new bulb to blow prematurely. I would test the bulb when you remove it cos it could be a relay problem!

THanks mate! I found the problem...it was just a burnt off filament in the lightbulb. It was easy. Changed it in 5 minutes. It is pretty much straight forward from the owner's manual. You had to go under the car to unscrew this ONE screw and then pull out the whole fog lamp. unclip the connector to take the whole fog light out. then you turn this "cap" that lets you access the lightbulb which i just replaced it with the new lamp.

Oh Ok...well done. Now go back to the car and remove both fog lamps. Go down to the post office and send them by Fed ex to me in Australia!!!! I can't find them down here - not without getting a second mortgage anyways!
