Ok cool. The reason I was asking is because I bought an APEX Twin Cam 16 decal like on AE86s on ebay. I don't wanna be ricer so I was wondering whether to put it on with the APEX, cause the twin cam 16 does apply to my 7A-FE.
Even though the APEX has nothing to do with my car it looks good, so I'll stick it on anyway.
What does apex mean? Well I don't know about some of the answers some of you were pulling out of your asses, but this is what I got from the dictionary.
apex:
noun
1. highest point: the highest point of something
2. highest point of somebody’s career: the most successful part of something, especially somebody’s career or life
3. tip of something: the tip or top of something, especially something that is pointed, for example, a triangle
[Early 17th century. From Latin.]
So in the case of what the Apex lable meant on the Trueno/Levin Grand Touring Apex, the apex probably was in reference of the Corolla being at it's highest peak in performance wich is not completely untrue to today as it was pretty much the last RWD Corolla and there will probably never be another one ever again.
But if I remember corectly there were some FWD Corollas that recived the same badging. So overall it was probably there just to add more emphisis on that it was the top dog in the variations of corolla packages.
