Cold Air Intake/Console Lights

Okay, I'm a newbie to this so I hope I'm doing this right. My buddy has an '05 Corolla S and was thinking about installing a CAI on it but wanted to know if he would be voiding his warranty? He plans to get a professional to do it but not the dealer. What do you guys think? Another thing, The console lights are the standard green color and he wants to change it. Where would he be able to get different color bulbs for it and what size would they be? does anyone know or have suggestions? If you could help out, I'm sure he would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I don't think a CAI will void the warranty, but I do know that AEM and TRD usually dont void your warranty. I would call a Toyota dealer, probably in parts and services department and ask them what will void it. As for the console lights there are a some pages here that will tell you how to do it:

http://www.corollatoys.com/diy/18.htm

http://www.corollatoys.com/diy/new4.htm

that should be plenty of info to help you with those lights. good luck!

Thanks again for helping me out. I just had one more question that I was wondering about. Now I heard from another friend that it was possible to buy those colored "sleeves" that go over the bulbs?? is this possible instead of painting it? and where would I buy these sleeves? or would it just be easier to buy a different color bulb? Does anyone know what size the console bulb is for an '05 Corolla S? If anyone could help I would appreciate it much.. thanks

As far as the CAI, just do it yourself. The TRD one comes with instructions which is just lovely. And if I can put a CAI on my car without blowing up anything, that proves a trained monkey can do it

Thanks for all your help you guys! Well, this information will be useful to everyone who owns an '05 Corolla and wants to install a CAI. I called AEM and they said that they have not yet confirmed the fit for the CAI on an '05 which I found out the engine on an '05 is slightly different from an '04 and the AEM instruction manual. Thank you anyway for all your help. I'll just have to wait til they come out with a CAI for the '05's
