I have an '03 corolla and I want to put some TRD lowering spring on it to minimize the fender gap. I want to retain my warranty cuz I have the seven year extended warranty. The one toyota dealer I called here in Winnipeg quoted me for $900 for just spring install!!! I almost laughed when I heard this....Funny thing it took this guy about 5 minutes to figure out the price with his calculator. Does spring install really cost that much?? Anybody here have their car lowered by toyota? How much was it? Where else can I bring my car to get lowered.
if your really lookin to lower your car and save some money .......you can go pick up a can of propane and torch it but when you lose control dont blame it on me cause i never told you this..........
coojoe - must you have them installed by a dealer? can't you just do them yourself or with a friend? they'll still have the part warrantee on them, like they would ifyou were to pay out the ass to have someone else do it.
i don't know how the warrantee thing works...then again, i really don't care when it comes to my car, so i never bothered to check.

$900? I think that must have included the springs which are about $400.
Yeah that sounds about right for the dealer. 5 hours labour @ $95/hr + $400 springs + Brian Mulroney's GST = ~$900.00
But then I hear you can get springs installed around the corner from some of the "specialty mod shops" for $100.
Keep this in mind:
1) You're warranty for suspension parts is practically moot anyways. Like brakes, they are a wear-n-tear part so any coverage to your stock parts would be minimal (if any). If in doubt, call 1-888-toyota-8 and ask them for clarification.
2) Lower your car, just don't let your insurance company know. You won't get coverage. It's debateable whether you're covered anyways.
the spring only cost about $250.. and as for laber... if you do it outside of toyota... it only cost you $120 (about 1 1/2 hour).. Toyota will always try to rip you off...
btw... changing your spring will not damamge your engine or your transsmission, there for it will NOT void your warrenty... i've change my spring to other non-TRD brands.. and Toyota still warrenty my car after i blew my engine..

well I am going to just buy the springs online and get it installed at a local shop for $200 cdn....screw the warranty. If my struts blows within 1-2 years, i'm just going to replace them with aftermarket struts....sound good??
damnit.. why is it that everytime someone posts a price, some people don't realize what currency they're posting on and make a smart ass comment about what they can get for the same price. $1 US = $50million CDN.
