block heater

I bought a engine block heater the other day from toyota for my 2002 corolla. The only problem I'm having is where to put it. On the directions that came with the part it says that it goes below the spark plug on the left side of the engine. Is there anyone out that has a better explaination of where it goes.

My Explorer has one in a freeze plug hole too but this one looks like it plugs into somewhere else. The unit is about 4 inches long and the diameter is about the size of a quarter.
