stalling

My car for some reasons stalls out the blue. It will be idleing at around 800 when all the sudden when im at a red light and i will just drop in rpm and finally stall. Sometimes though it will be fine and i can drive no problem. Im not sure of the problem since it happens whenever. What is wrong?!!! Thanks in advance

Ran out of fuel lately? happened to me...ran out of gas killed my fuel pump..and clogged my fuel filter with all the crap at the bottom of the tank.....ran intermittenly like that till the pump fianlly died....that sucked...car was in the middle of a highway intersection for an hour...in the middle of winter....wasnt happy.

(that was in my wagon)
