Thanks for all the suggestions! Unfortunately, this is the first brand spanking new car I've ever had and I'm definitely no car guru so won't be cutting wires. I just know that there are some cars that have a "sequence" that disables the chime (kinda like the Mortal Kombat blood code for the old Genesis).

To continue the great seatbelt debate: I only put in that I didn't wear a seatbelt in the, apparently, far-fetched hopes to avoid this discussion and the inevitable suggestion of "why don't you just put on the seatbelt, that should stop the chiming?" I then added the PS don't lecture, to further reinforce the fact that I have heard all this before by other well meaning individuals. I guess it was too much to ask, but I do appreciate all the gory stories and subtle (or not so) insults to my intelligence though.

Life is really just a matter of perspective. I'm curious as to how many of you smoke, drink alcohol, or do some sort of drug (I'm not looking for an answer, it's just a rhetorical thought), since these are all things that I find to be stupid or life threatening and yet I will only (most of the time) give my opinion when asked for it. Even if you don't do any of those, maybe you do other things that some might consider stupid and have probably been lectured, yet continue to do it anyway...why?

Anyway, have a great day!

Here is a very simple way to do it. Go to a junk yard and get 2 of the seatbelts (just the plugin part) and then just put it in your cars seatbelt recepticle.

It is your life, do what you want to do. I have a 2005 Camry and my car has the same thing. So when people ride in my car I make them put on their seatbelts as it is my insurance and they are my responsibility. But the above should be the cheapest way to disable it without harming the car.

The switch is no longer in the latch it is in the unit that contains the belt.

Thanks!

PS please skip the lecture on why i should wear a seat belt, yadda, yadda...I hate them, they are uncomfortable and refuse to wear it. Thanks again!

my seat belts have too much tension so I use clips to hold the belt off me where it doesnt strangle me while Im wearing it, that way the belt is on you where a cop wont give you a ticket and you cant even feel it so it doesnt wrinkle your clothes either. I bought some black clips from autozone on their counter and they work but you could also use small chip clips.
