ferking brakes.... Q's?

so yeah..i put in new rear brake shoes into my 86 corolla tonight....put it all back together...pulled out of the garage...tested the brakes...they felt good...pulled the ebake handle...and nothing....straight to the stops...

I then pulled the drums back off and had my mom pull the handle while i watched....i moved the lil ratchet thingy into the correct possition....and she said it felt much tighter..then i put it all back together again...pulled out...and still had nothing

WTF!!!!!

any ideas?

When you put the drum back on after adjusting the rear brake did it spin easily? You want the drum to fit on there pretty snug and you won't be able to freely spin the drum more than 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn. Also after adjusting the rear brake drive the car backwards and hit the brakes, repeat a couple of times. Hope any of this helps out.

the handbrake on the E9 corollas have an autoadjusting feature.. Just yank the handbrake, it'll tighten on its own.

uhm...actually mine doesnt auto adjust this is what i thought would happen

but it would seem as if i need to manualy adjust the ebrake till the drum is snug.....not that big of a deal...but if you dont know....it sucks
