95 Corolla - C52 tranny swap

I'm thinking of swapping the 5-spd manual (C52) into my 95 Corolla, currently with the 4-spd auto (A245E).

Has anyone done this, and how did it go? Tell me what I will need for a tranny swap cause I don't know anything about it.

Also I read on Corolla Performance "TRD has a close-ratio kit for the C52 if you want to shift a lot. =) This would actually be quite nice if you could get a sixth gear."

Has anyone ever heard of this or done it?

^^ The 6th gear is what the C56 is for... and the close-ratio brings it upto where the 56 is minus the 6th gear.

As for the swap, you will need tranny, axles, whole new pedal assembly (Auto brake pedal too wide), clutch lines and master/slave cylinders, shifter cables, shifter, flywheel, clutch, thrust bearing, pressure plate.

The 4A/7A FE's i know you wont need an ECU as they are not transmission specific, so you wont get a CEL with your current ECU.

That should be just about it, but Let me know if i forgot anything guys.

^ not on the 7A-FE ECU's... they are not Transmission specific... I know this from experiance. I have used the ECU from a friends Auto in mine, works fine. He tested his ECU with mine, worked fine. There should be no problems.

Thanks for the info, but I decided to screw it. It's gonna be hard to get all those parts in working condition from a junkyard, and at the dealer it will cost a LOT of money. Plus, I'll be paying money to decrease the resale value of the car. It would probably be cheaper to sell my car and buy another Corolla that's manual.
