HELP Please! HELP....

I desperately need assistance or advice on how I can retrieve an item that has fallen into the aircon vent thats on my Toyotta Corolla dashboard. I went to Toyota workshop and they said it might set me back 200-300 bucks because its a tedious job (have to take out steering wheel and dashboard etc) Anyone got better (ie cheaper) ideas? Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

take the dash out yourself?

Its really not that hard, but it does take a while to do. Get a Haynes Manual and it will show you the bolt locations and what to do.

what did you drop down there? and do you really need it?

Which vent, and what year car do you have? Since it fell into the vent it might be a bit tough. Anyway, get the Haynes repair manual from your local library, or buy it. It's a pretty good description of how to take stuff apart.

Once I dropped a screw (when I was changing my instrument cluster at 11 pm) somewhere down behind the radio and it fell lower and lower to where the ECU was, and I used the Haynes manual to take apart the dash and I found my screw.

Good luck!
