when i got my corolla 2004s in december, it was right at the start of winter. i didn't have any problems handling it. I'm assuming you live in New york, and it's about the same as toronto...so no, you won't need snow tires. All-season tires would work just great.

didn't the government want to make winter tires the law in Quebec for the winter because of this?? I remember it being big news last winter.. don't know if it was passed as a law, but there's too many people out there driving on bald tires in the snow.

As for a 2004 Corolla on snow.. my buddy last year almost rear-ended someone on his LE during one of the big storms we had.. he missed the guy by about an inch. Unfortunately the SUV behind him didn't brake on time and rear-ended his car so hard that it deleted his trunk and it drove the LE far under the car in front. Thanks to his insurance he now drives a Corolla S.

I drove my AE86 through the winter with all seasons. RWD in the snow and I never had any problems. And I was in Barrie last year... If you don't drive like a dink you should have any problems.

How does an 88 sr5 handle in the snow? Just wondering? Snow in Indiana can get pretty bad, too. I doubt it's anything like in Canada but it can get kinda ugly.

I have an le and live in ny

i hae a 2004 corrolla le. IF you have anti lock brakes you have nothing to worry about. As long as you drive like a normal human being in the snow you will be okay. do not try to take a turn doing 55 in the snow because you will skid. Take it easy and you will be ok. I have not skidded out once in my car in the snow.

Which is total crap, ABS helps a bit, but I truly prefer lockable brakes in winter time.

on stock tires I did fine in the winter, although massive fishtails were very fun to do . But now I got new spiffy Toyo all seasons so I should do fine since I live in maryland I we don't get as much snow as other places do
