2004 CEL - VVTI problem

This is the 5th time the CEL came on for my 2004 LE. For the first 3 times, I did not take it very seriously and the CEL just went away after a few days. After the 4th CEL came on, I just couldnt stand it anymore so I took it to the dealer. Afterwards, I was informed that the code is for the VVTI and says there is a problem with it. The dealer opened the engine and checked timing chain, the little vvti filter and etc...and I there was no more CEL after my visit.

But last night, just when I was driving, the CEL came on AGAIN (the 5th time overall, and the 1st after I have visited the dealer) I am going to go back to the dealer again to see what they say, but meanwhile I am just wondering if there is anyone on this forum that had the similar problem? Again, I have a 2004 Corolla LE.....any help will be great. Thanks

ok,
got a call back from the dealer and they said that they need to replace the crankshaft/vvti actuator, any idea what that is and why this is happening? thanks for helping
