Unhappy Car starts solid when cold but when its warm it doenst

my 89 corolla sr5 starts just fine in the morning, i turn it and instantly it goes, but when my engine is warm it takes a while to start
also when i put my car in park the rpms go up gradually to like maybe 2.5 - 3 and wheni turn my car offf when its way up there it knocks.

i know im supposed to let the car warm up but this just started happening. I heard i should tyry cleaning my TB? tb? (ima newbie)

My 89 SR5 is not fuel injected, it has a carburetor. Try adding some fuel additive to your gas. It will clean out everything, and remove any water in the system. I like the Berryman's additive best, a second choice gumout. I prefer the Berryman's that sells in a metal cylindrical can.

clean your throttle butterflies with carb cleaner as well as the linkages, also check for vacuum leaks. hope this helps.
