red plastic dome near the VIN

just got a Corolla 2004 CE.

mounted on the dashboard, near the VIN number. there's a little red plastic dome. It looks like there's a chip underneath. Is that related to the security system.

Doesn't sound like any Toyota standard part I'm aware of. Have you asked the dealer?

your headlights will turn on/off automaticly depending on the amt of light. your car does not have this option but there is still the hole that needs to be plugged

Yes, it does have DRL.

After work yesteryda, purposely not turn on the headlight. Around 5:30pm, I heard a loud click, then the headlight turn on automatically!
