Question bad idling problem

hi all..Few questions here.

why is that my car has a very bad idling (>2000rpm).if adjust the timing below 2000rpm (1000rpm) the engine will off.if if i start again the engine it will also off.so i've to set the timing to 2000rpm which is fuel consuming.

the local mechanic says that the timing belt and fuel pump need to be replace.also the valve need to be re-adjust.So any ideas before i spend again my money?

my car is AE101 and using silvertop 4age 20 valve. Thanks for any comments.

i think is the fuel cut system fault, you should check the immobilizer link to the ecu. So, your car should be the CBU unit right? In malaysia, there is no AE101 with silver top unless u swap the engine from AE101 levin!
