Well, I ahve had the car a few months but just discovered the boards.
I bought the car from a friend, her Dad sold it to me real cheap because she left for college.
It is a Toyota Corolla GT-S Twin Cam 16V.
It's got 165,000ish miles on it. I just got done getting the clutch and alternator replaced. I got the car for $1900 and the work done for $500. So all in all, I think I got a damn good deal. She runs great, although there is a slight engine tick (sometimes major when starting in cold weather). Anyone know what it could be? Maybe it needs a valve adjustment? The trunk also leaks a little bit, is that a common problem?
Other than that the car is amazing, I absolutly love it.
But one thing I would love to do is get a Trueno Front Bumper, I think that is one major body tweak that completely sets it apart from other cars, where might I look to find one?
But anyway, just thought I would say hello and share with everyone my new ride! Input would be great! Just about all the possibilities of the car itself!
Thanks a lot!
My name is Rickey btw.
EDIT: I will take pics and upload them sometime tomorrow, its about midnight here right now!

Welcome Storyr. I can't comment on the tick as I'm not a 4AGE buff and it's way late for me to be thinking .
About the Trueno though.. I just installed an entire Trueno front end on my AE92 SR5 today.. it does look BAD ASS.. it doesn't look ricer aftermarket trash either.. it really looks nice. I will post some pics tomorrow and tomorrow night I will give night shots.
Be aware though, it isn't exactly a bolt off bolt on job. You will need to either custom fab frame rail brackets.. or use the ones that toyota uses on the Trueno.. I have the Trueno brackets. You gotta cut the inside of the frame rail out.. there is this thin metal piece inside that blocks almost all of the inside of the frame rail out.. and in order to slide the brackets in ya gotta do it.
So after I did that.. I also had to trim a lot of the top part of the bracket away.. so the bracket would slide deeper inside of the frame rail so the bumper would mount up properly. After all of that it bolted down with the welded nuts on the bracket.. the nuts lined right up with 2 holes on the outside of the frame rail so that was simple. I'd recommend getting the bumper and the front parking lights as well... U can use your current flip up headlights, hood and fenders. Also, if you are interested I am selling a set of Trueno sealed beam conversion bulbs.. u take out your headlights.. which are those shitty ass sealed beam type bulbs.. and use these which look identical except you put your own bulbs in.. they use H4 9003 bulbs.. I got a set of SilverStar bulbs and it kicks ASS.
hey, i'm from the "seattle" area as well.... i'm in bellingham, and go to several toyota meets in the seattle/tacoma area and end up going to tacoma quite a bit.......
i've got an ae92 coupe as well.... a "gt-s" or close enough
if yours is a 90 or 91, then you need to use premium gas, and not doing so might cause a knock
tail lights leaking is very common once the tail lights have been removed once.... i've been fighting this battle for almost 4 years

No, you keep your flip up headlights.. it's just a bulb replacement.. u know how there is a big ass glass lens for the headlight? well that whole glass lens comes out and you replace the whole thing.. when your headlight burns out. It's called a sealed bulb headlight.. What I have is basically the glass lens.. and then you put a 9003 bulb in, which is a more popular bulb and works a LOT better than sealed headlights. It looks just the same as what u got now in appearance.

right on, I live in Bellevue at the moment, but just moved up here from Tacoma in June.
My Corolla is an 88, so I am not sure the gas would cause a problem.

Love the colour combo on your car, but I disagree with the bumpers. A Zenki Trueno bumper would be tasteful and agressive, if you were gonna change it.
I will get my Zenki Trueno front end pics up here tonite
As for the cars.. I have an SR5.. eibach springs and KYB GR2 struts.. front strut tower bar.. car handles amazing.. I've had to do a few fast swerves around 40mph each time and it just sticks to the fricken road. One time getting onto the highway I rabbit dashed out infront of me and I looked back at the road just in time to see it and I made a mad fast swerve doin 40ish.. and whipped the steering wheel to the right (towards barrier!) and then back to the left and the whole car came right back into control.. was seriously impressed.
Yea well I am planning on selling the car though.. I want a 5spd celica.. Although every time I work on it and improve driveability, power and the looks I grow more attached.. I just don't wanna do a fricken 5spd tranny swap.. as simple as it would be.. that plus I need more juice outta the engine.. so a JDM GZE swap would be nice.. but that would cost in the range of a 1000 USD for the engine, harness and ECU... The benefit is having a super.. which I could manually control whether or not the supers mag. clutch is engaged or not.. so just cruising around no need for power I could disengage it .. i think the ECU kicks it on only when you juice the throttle anyway... hmm
Well my friend is putting a jdm gze into his corolla sedan.. wanna see his results first.
