To All AE86 Lover I'm looking for a Toy AE86 year 1985-87 to drift in. Use-to-be Honda love not no more will pay up to $3,000 for AE86 to kill old 92 civic hatch given to younger brother.
What kind of condition are you looking for the car to be in for $3,000? Are you looking for a SR5 as well as GT-S?
I my self now have 2 AE86's. And I will tell you right now to expect rust and the need for body work. I payed $400 for my first but it was in really bad shape and I may be parting it out soon. My second was for $2600 and I expect to pay $1k-$2k to have the body restored to mint shape.
I belive there is a AE86 for sale on autotrader but it was an SR5 conversion so it is risky seeing that you don't know how much of the car is still an SR5 like the tranny and rear axle. All because you drop in a 4AG dosen't make it a GT-S.
The windshield is perfectly fine. There seems to be no cracks. I'll know for sure when I yank it out. I should start pulling it apart with in the next few weeks because I need to swap over a few parts to my new one.
By the way I love that rotating view of the AE86 in your sig.

Martini - Ya, I'm in around Markham, but it's surely not me on the road. My AE86 is, shall we say, under repair. I've had the thing for about 8 months and really haven't put much time into fixing her up yet. She's not yet running; had a head gasket failure when I bought her. In the process of putting the head back together now. But I hope to have her running by maybe late July or early august.

Initial D overdose is right. You want an AE86 "to drift in". If you've had a Civic hatch, an FF car, do you think you will instantly know who to drift a FR car?? It takes years of delivering tofu to the top of Akina mountain to learn and perfect the skills of drifting. Good luck Takume.
As for "to kill old 92 hatch given to young brother", what gives you that idea?? Even though the 4AGE is one of Toyota's most storyed engines, it's not going to "kill" any Civic hatches just out of the box. But with some tuning, you'll be eating up Civics, Skylines, RX7s, turbo Levins, MR2s, Celica GT4s (in the snow, too!) without any problems. Yeah, and I'm talking about straight line accleration, no joke!!
Last but not least, have you turned your mind to the maintenance issues for any car of that age?? Any screw, nut, or bolt could be an adventure.
In the immortal words Mr. T: "I pity DA FOO!!"

Andrew, I work on the car a little bit here and there. But just very little ... I'm kinda stopping the mods of the civic for now so I use the GTS to take care of my car itch. When I get to the brakes, I'll give you a call. Or if i can devote a whole day or weekend to working on it, I'll give you a call too.
haha i didn't notice the wood blocking the rear wheel.
have you had a chance to take the car out for a drive? btw i still owe you a ride in my car hah, at least now it is up to acceptable condition.. still not as nice as your ek tho.
need some 3m-finesse it, and a day with my orbital buffer....
im going to quit kelsys i think so i can devote more time to working on my car and others, and helping ray out with his home project...
give me an approximate time, how busy are you now??
btw i know this guy with a sweet white ek9 hatch, carbon fiber hood, carbon front lip, slammed on the rota spoon sw388s and is pushing a b20+ls head. VERY NICE>..
like a color opposite of your car hahah.
