Hey ya'll, I ve been driving my corolla 2004 S for almost a year now closing in on 30000km. And recently i have been hearing this slight "roaring" noise from somewhere. I can't quite pinpoint where exactly it's coming from. Sounded like when the tires were not pumped properly (lack of air) and making that wheel on the floor rumbling noise. I pumped the wheels to its proper PSI, and i can stlil hear it. I can hear it most when i 'm driving at high speed. i'm thinking it's something with the tires, or the bearings? anyone has experienced this before?

If it sounds like it's coming from the rear you have the same problem I had. I was getting a groaning bearing noise from the r/r and replaced both rear bearing and hub assy. and wah-la no more noise
If the tires are left in one location too long they develop uneven wear (hard to explain) and the 2 possibilities are cupping and scalloping. Once it occurs the tires will be noisy and until they are replaced. You also have to consider it may be brake noise or bearing noise as mentioned.
The car is still under factory coverage (or close) you should get it checked on Toyotas $$.
Aight, i went in to get it checked out today. And tthey found out that the noise came from the rear hub and bearing that were defective. GOod thing i went before my warranty went out.
As for the deflating tire, it was just a flat tire!
So no more humming in my car!!!

Just wondering if it was still under warranty why didn't you just take it to the dealer to have it looked at in the first place? Instead of asking opinions here as to what it might be...no matter what the cause/problem was if its still under warranty they will fix it...seems like you just wanted conversation unless you were planning on fixing it yourself ...JMHO....Raddman

Actually i did go to the dealer the first time, and they gave me a shitty service. THis guy did not even have a look at my car. My conversation with this service manager could've been very done on phone-seemed this service manager had no clue what he was talking about. THe one i went to today was more than helpful. well my pt was tat i Just wanted an opinion/idea before i went to the dealer again.

The best thing to do is look for a dealership that can actually help you. That's the point of the warranty, for the people at the dealership, it's nothing more than money. They will let you buy the warranty, but then do crapy maintanance on the car. Before my warranty runs out, I am defenetly gonna get my speakers replaced and some other parts, see what I can use it for. I would be so pissed, if I took the car to the dealer to get the problem worked out and he didn't even take a look at my car. In your case I would've asked to speak to a supervisor and tell him of how poor of a job that man did.

if you're corolla came with GOODYEAR tires than do everyone a favour and change them because they are complete shit...........and prematurally fall apart..........that is probably were the problem lies.

I agree had a set of Goodyear Integrity's new at purchase that lasted me 35K and were slick by then and even new they would slide around in light rain..seen a survey out of a 1000 people polled 10 being the best they were rated 2.3 ..Raddman
Let us know if you ever got your problem solved and what it was

"HONK IF ANY PARTS FALL OFF"
unfortunately i was suckerd into purchasing the goodyears...........after i installed them, about 2 weeks later one of the tires in the front left.....was making a whinning noise, like a broken bearing.........i thought it was the car........changed the rim, realigned the car and balanced it like 6 times at 6 different shops, had the wheel bearings checked, half shafts(since my floor would vibrate too)........after my back right tire......went out of balance. I am a cautious driver and i never hit anything........finally i got feed up and purchased brand new Michelin Hydroedge tires.......since that time.......no problem, no wheel bearing noises and better traction......
that was my unforunate story with Goodyear products
Here take a look at the survey of all the tire performances, and opinions of ppl:
Michelin hydroedge is a nice tire but their pretty pricey....I went to a BFgoodrich(made by Michelin now) Traction T/A H rated. I went to Sams club they had a special $15 off each BFgoodrich tire and got a set with taxes--lifetime balance, rotating, road hazard for $310... I went to a 205-65-15 because it had an extra tread on it...they fit great just tried them out in the snow/ice for the first time Sunday with not a problem ......Raddman
