Engine noise after parked my 04 Corolla

everytime after I park my park and turn off the engine and get out from it, I always hear this noise coming from the front portion of the car. it sounds to me like some kind of metal squeaking noise.

I do know that the moment when I step out from the car, the car is moved back and forth a bit, however, this noise still appears even if I pull the hand brake and the car is not moving back and forth.

does anyone experience the same noise issue as I do and is this something I should be concerned about? thanks for your help.

Canada noisy front

It could be your rad cooling fan, rubbing on the shroud or road debris. Open the hood and attempt to narrow the exact location of the noise. If the car is shut off, I can't think of anything else that is still operating, aside from the cooling fan. MVB in Barrie, Canada

The car should not be moving with the engine turned off and in park. Could be slight dieseling perhaps? Get it checked out, you still got warranty.

after carefully looking and inspection, i think the noise is coming from the exhaust manifold heatshield thing (its a piece of aluminum thing).

does anyone experience the same problem?

My 05 Corolla XRS ( not sure if it is the same for the 04 S, but my previous 04 S had nothing like this so I am not positive) came with a tag hanging from the stick shifter, which said that once you turn the car off, the car runs diagnostics and engine check so don't be alarmed if the engine has some sounds generating while it is turned off. It could be that, but I would suggest double checking with Toyota.

Woah. That's interesting, never heard of that kind of thing before.

If the XRS is drive-by-wire, it could be something to do with that, but I don't think it is.

YEah its possible, heat and cooling of metal expands and shrinks it, hence it can make noises.

Is it kind of a ticking noise.?? If its from the exhaust manifold area, it probably just the metal making noise from the heat. I had a car that would tick like that after I shut it off. It's no biggie...

No Corolla S,LE and CE are all drive by wire

Corolla XRS is still mechanically driven because of the high performance aspirations.

Nevertheless, the diagnostic check tag that was hang from my stick shifter must be in the other trim levels as well. It also said that the computer runs engine diagnostics at different intervals. It could be running even 3 or 4 hours after the car was parked.
