I know the 4AGZE is the supercharged engine they put in the older MR2s but what engine type is this 20 valve engine I hear about? Which is a better swap for an 88 GTS (FWD)?

I don't know how much HP a 4AGEZ 16V has but it is cheaper to get parts for because the 4AGE 20V never came out here. As for the 20V I belive it has 160HP (silver top).

The 4AGZE also came in FWD in the AE92, the 20V came with a 6-speed tranny. Both are great engines, but for different reasons. Try Club4ag for more tech support.

i'm gonna say it.... buy the 4a-gze.... the 20V is a great engine, but mods are expensive and even if something SIMPLE breaks you're screwed.... it's gonna cost a lot for the part and you're going to have to wait for it to be shipped over.... the 4a-gze has decent power with more potential with less money....

it depends on wich one you get....
the one from the north american mr2 is runing about 140hp if youre getting the one from japan that was in the early 90's trueno
its about 170-180hp the best in that they run with the same ecu as the 4ag lo-comp
