Post Disc Brakes adaptation on stock drum brake wheels

I´ve finlly decided on what mods I´m gonna do on my 87 corolla. I´m starting with the brake system for the back wheels. I´m gon put disc brakes instead of drum. I´m not sure whether to buy the standard toyota break discs for the 87 corolla or if I can adapt better discs, any sugestions

I'm not sure what kinda of corolla you have, sr5? sedan? Anyway, your best bet is to use the disk brakes from the gts and swap it onto your car. I dunno the details, but if you search the forum you'll probably find some stuff, I know this topic was brought up a couple times.

your gonna need the entire system, master and all, you are set up for disk/drum and you are going disk/disk. If the gts has different diameter caliper pistons on the front than you have now, your gonna need those too to get it balanced right, and if the gts calipers are needed for the front and dont fit onto the steering knuckle, your gonna need those too along with maybe the rotor. Look the car up on tirerack.com and see if it has 14 inch wheels on it, if it does, you might have to go up to 14 to keep the wheels from hitting the rotor/calipers. If you can keep your front rotors, be sure they are the same diameter as the gts rotors, or the brakes are not going to be balanced right. You are going to get a real education on braking over this.
