hey guys, my sister's car (93 corolla 7a, 4AT) won't warm up, no matter how long you drive.

the gauge shows it at 1/4 up at the very most. any ideas? One time it crept up to like 3/8 up, and the fans kicked in, but usually it won't go more than 1/8 or a 1/4. sometimes it goes up to 1/4, then goes back down to C. I'm kinda scared it might overheat and we wouldn't know, like if it's reading the temperature wrong, and the fans never come on.

i was thinking it's the thermostat, does that sound right?

Yeah it might be that your thermostat is gone.

No diagnostic lights on or anything? Get the thermostat checked, I doubt its a problem with the engine itself.

93 corollas werent OBD, and theres no diagnostics in the thermostat itself :P

yeah, i'm pretty sure it's the thermostat. toyota parts dept wasn't open at all today, so i'll call tommorrow and get a price, probably wait to fix it until next weekend, lol.

Its an easy fix, just remember 50/50 mix of coolant and water.
