05 Corolla Mesh Grill Help

Okay, so my friend just bought one of those mesh grills off of ebay to replace his stock one on his 05 corolla and he noticed that that fitting is a little off? Has anybody had this problem with aftermarket grills? What was done to modify it to fit right? If anyone could let me know.. that would be awesome. Thanks!!

I'm not sure what type of brand it is... He got it from www.silviaparts.com it looks like yours though.. How do you make it fit well? did you redrill the screw holes or use zip ties? I'm not sure if the bumper is different on the 05 corolla but it doesn't fit well. Well, let me know.. thanks again for your help.

Cool

His is different, he doesn't have the bumper grill..mine have the tie-on also but I will put them on permanent after I see if I still like them in a few months...How much did he pay for that? I see similar ones on ebay for $25...also the grill had to be painted right, the cost of a pint of paint had to be $35....mine were all chrome.....Raddman...

I bought the same grill but I think between the 03 Corolla and 05XRS the bumper specs are different. It definately didnt fit right at all....very much off. Thats where you have to think outside the box...I had to cut part of the plastic(the inner parts) to get it to fit more snug....the grill is a lil off the bumper. for peepz that dont know...they wont even notice but I do..and it still bugs me. Im gonna get another one for my car.....modding your car is a live and learn type of thing...now I know this one doesnt fit...thank god it didnt cost much.

I hope this helps out...check the grille out on my car page...

How's it going Hitmanxrs. see yours looks snug and fit. My friend tried to fit it right and the top part doesn't look good. there's a huge gap between the grill and the hood and you can see the space of where the hood latch goes. He tried zip tieing it and redrilling the holes to line up with the stock holes and still.. I think he's gonna return it and look for anyone who is selling a Vuteq grill because those might fit better. Let me know if you hear or see anything. Thanks

well, like I said dude...I had to cut the inside a lil bit. if you turn the grill over so its facing down. the most inside plastic pieces I had to cut out...or else it wouldnt have fit as close as it does to the rest of the car. your friend didnt have to drill anything other holes. yeah i know the hood latch and gap doesnt line up but you cant see that from the outside. and you can still open and use the latch. so no worries.

well im outz.. i hope i've helped out.
