Cool Engine noise and shaking at idle

My 04 rolla S shakes and i can hear my vales moving up and down at idle!!! When i first start my engine it goes up to 2,000 RPMS for a few seconds then down to like 500 Rpms and back up again and then down again to like 1500 Rpms. Then, after i drive it a bit and i stop to neutral or idle it drops to like 300-500 Rpms and shakes pretty badly like it wants to throw up or something!! My check engine light is on! I reset it and it came back again after a few hours of driving. Anyone got some tips on how to fix this? I know i could take it to the shop but it would cost way 2 much for my income.

My wild guess is that the cam(s?) is the causing the erratic engine speed. Hopefully not, but if so sorry, 'cause anything cam related is gonna be expensive.
