It will not harm them to use them. If they are somehow frozen or will not budge dont hold the button down or attempt too much until the car is warm enough to release them. It is hardest on the system if the windows wont move at all. Same with wipers always clear snow and ice by hand not with wipers.

power windows

how cold would it be considered too cold to open the power windows?

would any cold weather , temp, wear out the power windows if i were to open and close them often in winter?

The only situation that would be hard on the system is if they were frozen shut and would not move and you continue to attempt to operate them. In the cold any heat generated will be quickly dissipated.

I drove my previous Corolla S through the winters of Calgary, Alberta and there is no such problem. I have driven my 04 S at 4 am in 1-2 feet of snow with luggage in the trunk and three people in total with the heater on and it never complained or even struggled. It just kept going quietly. I think you are being overly sensitive about your car. Toyotas are rock solid. They are built to handle any situation.

Hey, if anything is broken the car is still under warranty, so you can take it back to the dealer and get the problem fixed.
