what motor do you have on the car? alot of guys with high performance motor uses 15W50 Mobil 1 Full Sythetic. if it's too expensive just use a good mineral oil and just replae it often. try 10W40. Laguna is not as bad (in traffic) as Manila so you should be ok.
welcome pare!

I wouldnt suggest going to synthetic to mineral just like that. I'd use semi-synth in between... then again, I dont think you'd really run into any problems just putting synthetic in directly, but I think the transition might be better off doing it in steps. I think that was recommended by a motul/redline distributor.

Thsi is nuts.
Just put synthetic in it and don't worry about it. For those who know; Never use Fram filter, they are junk and have ruined many motors. (unless you like the paper elements falling apart and clogging up your oil passage ways and cardboard & useless plastic bypass valves) Wal-Mart super tech made by champion labs is much better; just stay away from 'orange'.
If you use thicker oil, your engine won't respond as well as a thinner oil recommended by Toyota. 10w-30 is fine.
