Australia Anyone know the Backpressure?!

Hay ppl

I got a 03 corolla hatch (seca), and im thinking bout putting in an exhaust system but not sure if its worth it... as i dunno the backpressure of the stock exhaust...

Does anyone have any idea??

If putting in a extractor, high-flow cat and muffler only makes a lil dif... then im not goin to waste my $$

I'd be interested to know this too. I was thinking of atleast getting a larger exhaust, and whatever else to help drop the cruising fuel consumption.

Its got a 1-1/4 inch exhaust on mine ('92 AE92 CSi) at the moment, so I would say its rather restrictive at higher RPM.

A muffler alone will do nothing. The cat and extractor will help some. But get the cat back as well. You won't see much in gains otherwise.

Unhappy

MMMMmmmm..... so no one is sure if there will be a significant difference with an aftermarket exhaust sys....

judging by the looks... the current pipping is bout 1.5-2" ....

guess i'll just save my $$ & just get a nice sounding and looking muffler..

Why bother with that? If you're going to be cop bait, you may as well make the harassment worth it by getting the entire exhaust. I'd be pretty pissed off if cops eyed me like a street racer when the only mod on the car doesn't give any extra power.

if you put a CAI, header, highflow cat and mandrel bent piping with straight through exhaust...it will sound very nice and mellow, not too ricey and yes, you will see some HP increase, but nothing too dramatic.
