Take the bounce out of suspension

I've got a problem w/ my coilovers. I got them put on but I still have the stock struts, if I put kyb's on would the elimanate the bounce? I would rather keep the coilovers than get springs since I can raise the height, but was wondering if that would help??

Find out what the spring rate of the coilovers are and get shocks that can deal with it. Thats why most performance kits are combined shock + spring packages. Takes the guessing out of the equation.

Would that work w/ any brand of strut? I mean if it would work w/ a cheap strut would it be best to go w/ that?

cheap struts generally wont work with high springrates. I dont really know what struts you should use. I'm using bilsteins on my car.

What he said.. I hate when people do those "drop on a budget" suspension jobs, I actually saved enough so that I could do the whole package on my car. Cost me almost $1000CDN but at least I don't have the ricer on a budget look.

The KYBs are valved 50/50, and they do indeed suck with performance springs.
What you need is rebound control, Konis have made this feature adjustable on their shocks, nice, but for the same price you can get Bilsteins, worth every penny imo, have used them on several cars.

I have never heard of Bilsteins. Are they cheaper than Kyb's?

They are the original high-pressure gas shock, developed for Mercedes under contract years ago, now are recognized as one of the best, and even though the patent for the design has turned, no one else can seem to copy them. The last set I purchase cost around $400.
The only other close comparison would be the rare KYB Rallye, or TRD sport shocks, but I don't know if you can even get those anymore. Bilstein has a lifetime guarantee, but haven't seen one go bad either.
If you insist on being frugal, you could always try some different oil in your stock shocks, that is if they aren't gas charged.
