Stupid Question, Diagnostic port or?

Hey guys just finished a engine swap in my new used car, 92 Corolla. Went to start it knowing it has never cranked over at all since the previous owner knocked a rod out of it. Starter doesent enguage "as in turn over", checked all the stupid stuff all looks good. I did notice it has what is similiar to my moms's passkey system in her van. This look like one of those POS gotta have the funkey key in order to get it to start deals. If thats the case i'm kinda screwed. I hope someone knows what I'm talking about, its located drivers side left hand lower dash. I always though it was a diagnostic port but the red light on it makes me think otherwise especially since my Cammy doesent have one. What do you huys think? I really need that digital cam for xmas.

sounds like a dummy alarm to me, trace the wires and see if they were added along with a black relay and maybe a control box?

Well it was one of those stupid passkey systems. It took a full 30 seconds to disable .
New engine sounds healthy had a small antifreeze leak (stupid OEM clamps). I just need to figure out why it has a dash/steering wheel shaking vibration in gear at idle to 10 MPH.
