Talking Keyless Remote Programming???

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if any of you have ever tried programming your keyless remote on your own?
I have a 2005 Corolla CE with B package and bought an extra keyless remote from ebay.
It came with instructions on how to programme without having to go to the dealer to pay $50 per programming.
It's came to 2 ways to programs
1) Through the RS3000 VIP ECU in the Glove Box
2) A series of unlocking/locking the doors etc..

However, there is a major problem with both:
1) Doesn't have the little button or hole on the ECU to reset the programme
2) Just doesn't work at all, not matter how many times I tried!!!!

Do any of you have any advice or experiences with programming them yourself? Any success or failures?

I've checked the Net and the instructions are the same. Any advice would be most helpful for this Toyota newbie!
Thanks!!

well just tolet u know, if u install a remote on your own, or program one, u void your warranty, suggestion go to toyota dealer or another remote dealer in your town who is certified in doing remotes, that way u wont ruin yur warranty, ya i know its cost a bit much at a shop, but its worth it and is done right, if something doesnt work u can take it back and blame someone else, and th eproblem can be fixed, thats my suggestion

dont do work on a new car on your own!

Thanks man,
I'll probably just bring it to the dealer to get programmed. It just seems like such a rip to pay $50-$60 just top programme one key! Take care and talk to you soon.

It SHOULD work.
I dont' remember the turn key #s to select mode though....
It won't hurt to try.

Make sure you have a good battery in the remote.

That has got to be a load. On mine, you turned the key, hold a button down, press a button on remote and it's done in less than 15 seconds. Dealer wanted to charge $90 for that, and no tools or anything was required. Not sure about the newer ones, but I bet that is a load of crap about voiding your warranty. Now if it involved disconnecting/splicing wires I could believe it.
