'94 Clutch Problem

The clutch just randomly started messing up last night on me. I push the clutch in completely, and i can't get into gear. Sometimes, when it will work, and I can get it into a gear, I CAN PUSH THE CLUTCH IN FULLY AND GIVE IT GAS,AND IT WILL ACCELERATE! I would take it to a mechanic to bleed all the lines, but I can't even get it in gear. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, this clutch is somewhere around 6 months old, and it is not slipping. I have no way of taking it to the mechanic, so any suggestions would help, basically I want to try to fix all possibilites or else I might have to get it towed to the mechanic, which would really suck.

Its not how fast your car goes...its how much nerve the driver has to push it that fast.

Open the hood and have someone else push the clutch in. Is the slave cylinder doing its thing? If it is, then the problem lies with the release mechanism in the tranny.

I'd rather fix it myself than have to pay a tow truck, and pay a mechanic. And the problem with the mechanic is that I took it in there just a month or so ago because the clutch had done this once or twice, but then it went away. The mechanic couldn't find anything wrong with it, so it would be bad if I got it towed to a mechanic who couldn't fix it.

I'm probably going to try and bleed the lines when I get a chance. Might be the release arm lever though.

Anybody ever had any problem like this? I searched, and only one person has ever had anything wrong like this, and he still hasn't replied. I still haven't had a chance to bleed the lines, so I still have a little hope that that's the problem, not likely though. I've never messed with the clutch before, but do you think if it is the master or slave cylinder that I could replace it on my own? I'm going to get a haynes repair manual in the next couple days, do you think that'll have much info on the clutch in there? WOW, just found out today that it'll cost me $50 to get it towed to a mechanic, and the mechanic said he didn't know what the problem was from the symptoms, so it might be a waste. Please help!
