Yes get the Corolla, Mazda 3 nice car not any less expensive, and civic is much slower and again not much less money, overal reliability, fuel economy maintenance schedule etc... all save you money in the long run.

not to mention the resale value is great. If you can get it for 300 over jump all over it, no dealership is going to go under list and they will never give up there hold back, and won't even tell you about it. Hold back is used to cover interest costs of the vehicles as the sit on the lot the only way the dealership makes money off hold back is to move cars quick and keep his inventory rotated. and it is a perk of doing good business and have proper inventory rotation. Also don't let people fool you about all the hold back money the dealer makes, Toyota Hold back is 1.5% so on a Corolla @ 15000 hold back is about 225, it is a business what would make you think that they would give up this money. They are in business to make money and are not a charity. at 300 over they are making 525 with holdback, provided the car has been in inventory less than 45 days, otherwise some of the holdback money has been eaten up by interest and they are not even making that. out of that 525 they have to paqy the salesman, the Finance manager, Advertising costs. etc... plus keep the doors open. essentially at 300 over they feel it is just to move a car because its a slow month and maybe that car is over 45 days on the lot and is starting to cost them interest money, and as well they are trying to gain a lifelong customer (you being 18 and all) as well as a service customer. It is a terific deal take it.
