Hey i have a 85 corolla and this guy in a 96 or something like that honday civic want to race me, he has no mods to it and its a auto tranny. he has never raced be for. i have about 20 races that i have raced. i have nothing really done to mine but its gutted out 1 tenzo seat and a dash. he is going to have him like 160 lbs and his gf well over 200 lbs, do u think i will win??
If you had a GTS with maybe a few simple, effective upgrades (intake, exhaust for example) you'd be able to take a civic. Non-Si Civics only have about 130 hp
well let me tell u about my car, no bullcrap in it all i have is one seat and the dash, no cd player no speakers no nothing, i have made a custom cold air intake for it, no exhaust on the car open exhaust man. plus a stock sr5 is about 2300lbs stock with full tank of gas and all that stuff, i gutted all that crap dropping it to less then 1900. i speed shift at 6,000 rpms and will get him from a good roll at at about 45 mph. the other guy will have alot of people in his car 4-5 people in the car, 600 extra pounds easy. he has never raced a day in his life, its a auto tranny, i raced my cousin's zx2 with a 2.0 dohc ztec engine that is a auto too, do u still think i will lose?
You will lose. I doubt a gts would beat the civic let alone your sr5.
If you were road racing, auto-x or track racing, driver experience would probably influence the outcome.
straight fact... YOU WILL LOOSE!
couple of question though..
- why would he race with everyone inside his car?
- why are speed shifting at 6000 rpm? have you ever dyno-d you're SR5 and so sure that that's where you're supposed to be shifting?
- why does he have a heavy GF is he ugly? (disregard the last one, sorry! )
by the way...
STREET RACING IS ILLEGAL just so you know, but if you wanna do it on the track, goodluck!

If it's a '96 Civic it could have anywhere between 106HP and 127HP stock. Even if he has never raced, it doesn't make a whole lot of difference because his is auto. If he has a lower base model and doens't have that much HP, with a few people in the car, that huge weight difference between his car and your could mean you win. With a CAI and your free exhaust, roughly how much HP do you have? If you have about as much as him with HP and torque, you have a really good chance at winning. Race him and let us know how it turns out.

Its not how fast your car goes...its how much nerve the driver has to push it that fast.
didnt say it was a big feat did i?? i was just wanting to know. well when the guy comes up to me and says he wants to race me for some money and all i will take it. his gf is ugly and fat by the way. i told him he had to have 1 person for ever seat belt in the car just playing around with him so i said yes y not
had him by 2 1/2 and was still walking away b4 i let off of the gas, so HA to all that said i could not beat him. it was just me and him, he didnt have anyone in the car
